Marita’s Vineyard is named after Bulmaro Montes’ younger daughter, Mara, who inspires him.
The unique vineyard setting is a hillside slope, with well-drained rocky and stone/gravel soil. The vines’ root depth is shallow, averaging 24 to 36 inches, which has a major impact on fruit quality by concentrating the fruit flavors.

FARMING PRACTICES
Each farming decision for MARITA’S VINEYARD continually promotes a healthy, beautiful vineyard that will produce the best wine. The focus is to maintain consciousness of farming practices and the impact of those practices on the vineyard, neighbors, and environment. Pesticides and insecticides are not used. Beneficial insects are encouraged as part of the balance with respect for nature, the vineyard’s sustainability, and the Montes Family farming plan. When this is done, farming becomes a sustainable part of the business. Therefore, the vineyard produces optimal fruit, the foundation of premium wine.
